Dover Race Track in the fall, 1999
The Dover International Speedway opened on July 6, 1969 and Richard Petty won the first race. The original asphalt
track was repaved with concrete in 1994. It required 8,286 yards of concrete. There is a horse racing track inside the
concrete track.
