Great-uncle Earnest was one of the last casualties of the "War to end all wars." He died October 15, 1918, just weeks
before the Armistice on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The story is that he climbed a tree to
get a better view of the German trenches and was riddled with bullets.
