The family home is located in Oberlustadt, Germany, just a few kilometers from the French border. It was built in 1711. The town was founded in 772. Note however, the barely discernible TV satellite dish on the right roof. My mother survived the bombing during World War II by taking shelter in the cellar. After the war she hid in a secret room over the garage during the initial occupation by French Moroccan troops.
